Back in 1921 Hugo Kümmerling started to produce herbal liqueurs in Deesbach in the Thuringian Forest.
By the end of the 1930's he had developed his top secret recipe that is still used in todays product. Distilled from entirely natural ingredients which include liquorice, cinnamon bark, cloves, angelica root and crumbled spearmint all of which help to characterise Kuemmerling’s premium quality.
Kuemmerling is a member of a product range called “half bitters”, this means that the sugar content is above 100 grammes per litre, making this a milder and sweeter variety of a herbal liqueurs.
